Recycle—For the Earth, For Our Bodies
Studies show that the amount of plastic a person consumes in a year is equivalent to one bento box. Waste is no longer just an environmental issue—it's a health concern. The Gomi-BentoTrash Bento Contest was born out of the desire to take the first step in addressing this ongoing problem. Through this contest, we hope to raise awareness and reduce waste, even in small ways.
Eligibility
Open to everyone living on planet Earth, regardless of age at the time of entry.

From Monday, July 21, 2025, to Sunday, August 31, 2025, 11:59 PM (JST)

Submission Requirements
Create a "Gomi-Bento"Trash Bento using trash you have personally collected. Submit your entry as a photo taken with a digital camera or smartphone. Please review the following details before entering:
- Photos should be submitted as digital files (recommended: within 5MB, JPEG or PNG format).
- Include a short description (within 400 characters) and a title via the application form.
- Please include the title of your work.
- The material, shape, and decoration of the bento box will not affect judging. Whenever possible, reuse items like disposable food containers. If you don’t have a container, a printable template is available.
How to Enter
Upload your photo and fill out the application form.
- Please provide accurate contact information, as winners will be notified via email.
- Multiple entries are allowed.

- Creativity and originality
- Unique and thoughtful approach to the theme
- The message or intention behind the piece

Notification of Results
Scheduled for late September to mid-October 2025
Notification to Applicants
- All applicants will be notified of the results via email from the contest office around September and mid-October 2025
- For selected finalists, the contest office will send a "Notice of Selection" via email. Please check the contents, sign the document, and return it to the office within two weeks. If you do not agree with the contents, the selection may be rendered void. After receiving your signed response, if deemed necessary, the office may contact you by phone or email. Please be advised in advance.
- Winners will be officially announced on the contest website.
- In case of a change in address or contact information, please notify the contest office immediately. The organizers and office will not be held responsible for any disadvantage caused by undelivered documents such as the "Notice of Selection."

Terms and Conditions
Please read the following information carefully and agree before applying. Any matters not specified in these terms shall be determined by the organizer. If you cannot agree to the organizer's decision, you may withdraw your entry. Any expenses incurred due to withdrawal shall be borne entirely by the applicant.
Notes when applying
- When applying, please carefully check the application instructions and ensure there are no omissions in the required information.
- In case of incomplete information or defective photo data, the entry may be disqualified.
- Any expenses incurred in connection with the application shall be borne by the applicant.
- Taxes and fees related to the receipt of prize money are the responsibility of the winner.
- We will not respond to any inquiries or complaints regarding the contest results. Please understand this in advance.
- Submitted works must be unpublished and not planned for publication elsewhere. Entries determined by the office to be duplicate submissions or similar to other works may be disqualified. If a violation is discovered after selection, the award may be revoked and the prize returned.
- If the judges determine that a work is not aligned with the contest theme, it will be disqualified, and the same measures as for duplicate or similar entries will be applied.
- Works previously submitted to other contests are acceptable only if they were not award-winning. However, if the rules of another contest state that the copyright belongs to its organizer, the work may not be submitted here. Please apply only after confirming the outcome of such contests.
- The "Future Genius Award" will be selected from participants aged 10 and under.
Disclaimers
- The organizers will not be responsible for any damages incurred by applicants in connection with this contest, except in cases of intentional or gross negligence.
- Submitted works must be unpublished and must not infringe on others’ copyrights. Works including copyrighted characters from manga or anime (character bento) will not be judged.
- The responsibilities of third parties and judges involved in operating this contest in cooperation with the organizer shall be treated in accordance with the above.
- The personal information provided will be used solely for the purpose of this contest and related operations. However, submitted works may be publicized (e.g., on websites, leaflets, booklets, or newspapers) without the applicant's prior consent for promotional activities, public relations, or announcements of future contests. Please understand this in advance.
- The nickname and creator's age may be published during the announcement of winners.
About Prizes
- Prize details are subject to change without notice.
- The right to receive a prize is limited to the winner and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
- Prizes cannot be exchanged or returned.
- Prizes may not be sold or transferred.
- If it is found that the rights or prizes have been sold or transferred, the award may be canceled and the prize returned.
- This campaign may be changed or canceled without prior notice.
- The organizer assumes no responsibility for any issues or damages (direct or indirect) resulting from the use of the prize. Please be aware of this in advance.
Organizer's Rights
- Ownership and copyright of submitted works belong to the organizer, Publicis Groupe Japan.
- Based on this copyright, the organizer has the exclusive right, without requiring the applicant’s consent, to publish, duplicate, publicly transmit, display, print, distribute, and screen the submitted works on websites, SNS, exhibitions, and facilities managed or hosted by the organizer, for five years from September 1, 2025.
- In relation to the above purposes, the organizer may (a) edit images using computer graphics and add sound effects to display the works on managed websites and SNS, and (b) use all or part of the works for posters or brochures announcing exhibitions. Applicants shall not exercise moral rights of authorship regarding these uses.
- The organizer may announce the applicant's name and work on websites, SNS, exhibitions, and other platforms related to the contest. Please also review the section below regarding the handling of personal information.
- If the contest is covered by media, images or videos of the works may be broadcast or published.
- If the organizer determines that the application violates the terms, the entry will be disqualified without notification. If a violation is discovered after selection, the award may be canceled, and the prize returned.
- These application guidelines shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
- In the event of any dispute between the applicant and the organizer, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.

The collected personal information will be used only to the extent necessary for the selection, communication, and public relations activities defined in the application rules.
Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties except in the following cases:
- When announcing contest results or showcasing works
- With the applicant's consent
- When disclosing information to outsourcing companies for the purpose of fulfilling contest objectives (e.g., providing shipping companies with delivery information). ShuttleRock Japan Inc., the agency responsible for contest operations, will sign confidentiality agreements with subcontractors and supervise proper handling of personal information.
- When processed statistically so that individuals cannot be identified
- When disclosure is required by law
